Sutter Buttes

E
ven after all these years, it can still be hard to tell the difference between Papyrus and Parchment (Fauxpyrus). Here's ONE WEIRD TRICK  to tell the difference! (Doctors hate him!) Check out the "H" in the word "Habanero" on the labels on the bottles on the left on the shelf on the picture on the website.

Notice the middle-line-thingy, how it's way up high. Obviously everyone knows that the official name of the middle-line-thingy is "Crossbar". I just didn't want to throw too much Official Papyrus Jargon (OPJ) at you. So yeah, the crossbar on the "H" is way up high on those labels. So this is clearly the Real-Deal-Papyrus (RDP) that we're dealing with here.

Now don't go thinking that Olive Oil is all we got here. No need to alert Popeye. You see, we've also got some other stuff here too. Look at that, there's some vinegar of different varieties. Like, there's a fig flavored variety for example.

"But what does this have to do with typography?" I can hear you griping. I'm getting to that! Gimme a break! The letters here actually look kind of like a modified version of Papyrus. It looks like they smoothed down some of the roughness along the edges. It doesn't look too bad. I actually kinda like this use of Papyrus.

Look at the way the letters curve above the top of the tree, like fresh life-giving oxygen, emanating from the leaves. I just want to take a deep breath of that Papyrus. I don't think I would change anything about this. Too bad the company completely changed the logo. I think I'm going to give this an "A" rating... Wait... What the... Completely changed the what?!

WAIT A MINUTE...

No more fresh life-giving "Papyr-Oxygen"? No more "A" rating.

Overall Rating: B  (for Buttes
)
